The Third Cinderella’s Shoe
There is no other way:
I carry beautiful dresses to the basement and hide the diadem in the iron chest.
I throw away some old poems and the ability to write them,
as I don’t need them anymore…
memories that made me hurt and warm
at the same time.
From an old drawer I take out the dusty black silk,
scrap of fabric from the vestibule
and the prince’s heart chambers.
After a glamorous ball in a distant castle, Cinderella returns home
for the last time.
I can see the blue color of the of the sky reflected in the surface of the sea but
from now on my eyes will be only blue.
In one shoe I limp and close the door.
This Third Shoe will stay with me forever…
